The short version: you can play TagYouIt as a guest without giving us any personal information. If you make an account, we keep your username, email and game progress so your town is saved. We never sell your information.

What we collect

We do not ask for your real name, address, phone number, photos or location.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Sign-in cookie: keeps you signed in while you use the site. It is removed when you close your browser or log out.
  • “Remember me” cookie: only if you tick “Remember me”. It keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
  • Browser storage: saves guest progress and remembers that you have seen the welcome message.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads, as it does for most websites.

How we use and share it

  • We use your information only to run the game and your account.
  • We send emails only about your account, such as activation and password reset.
  • We do not sell your information and do not share it for advertising.
  • Your information is stored with our web hosting provider, which keeps it on our behalf.
  • We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players.

Children

Anyone can play as a guest. Guest play does not send any personal information to us.

You must be 13 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • See or change your details: go to your Profile page.
  • Start your town over: use “Start my district over” in the game.
  • Delete your account: email us from the address on your account. We delete your account and game progress, usually within 30 days.
  • Clear guest progress: clear your browser's data for this site.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as asking for a copy of your information. Email us and we will help.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep your account information until you delete your account or ask us to. Passwords are hashed, and the site uses HTTPS. No website is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is important, we will tell signed-in players in the game.
